MEMBERS SERVICES
Visiting Team and Help Ministry
The Pastor finds time in his busy schedule to visit members and visitors but due to the increasing attendance of the church, the Visiting Team was set up. The team is charged with the responsibility of visiting members and visitors on a regular basis, with special emphasis on those that are sick or bereaved. The Help Ministry was also set up to render assistance to those in need through the Compassion Fund (an offering raised monthly for members that are in need).
Prayer Team
The Prayer Team is set to offer prayer for those who are sick or those that need spiritual intervention in their lives. The Prayer Team begins every service with an hour-long prayer before the commencement of the Sunday morning worship service and work with those who need the Holy Ghost. The team also works along with the Pastor in forming the prayer guides for the Quarterly Fast and Prayer Week of the church.
SUPCUSA
The Sinkor United Pentecostal Church University Students Association was formed in 2003 as a consortium of all university students in the church. SUPCUSA aims to promote the quest for higher education in the church, while at the same time galvanize support for less-fortunate members to attend universities. It is headed by a President and other corps of officers and has a membership of nearly 50 persons.
EVANGELISM & COMMUNITY OUTREACH
EVANGELISM
The Hour of Power Radio Broadcast is a 45-minute recording of sermons of Rev. Dr. Stephen T. Y. Benda. The program is aired on National Radio, Liberia Broadcasting System, and other local radio stations in Harbel, Buchanan, Kakata and Tubmanburg. Many souls are being touched through the radio ministry as evident by the phone calls and visits to the church. Rev. Dr. Benda is widely known as the fire-preacher because of his frankness and openness on the Word of God.
From time to time, the Church conducts open-air services in populated communities. Most of the time, these services are conducted in market places, football fields and other open spaces. Young Ministers of the church preach at these open-air services and pray for those that want to be saved. Invitations are extended for people to visit the church. The open-air services have an average attendance of 200 persons.
Rev. Dr. Benda produces a lot of tracts on various Bible related topics. These tracts teach lessons on prayer, fasting, evangelism, the plan of salvation and stewardship, among others. Rev. Dr. Benda is the author of a book entitled: “Rural Evangelism” and founder of the United Pentecostal Church Mission in the neighboring Republic of Guinea.
COMMUNITY SERVICE
The Sinkor United Pentecostal Church runs a full-term high school known as the Apostolic Foundation High School. The school caters to over 700 young people from kindergarten to Grade 12 level. The school also runs a night-session to enable adults (who are busy during the day hours) to attend school in the evening as a kind of Adult Literacy initiative. The Apostolic foundation High School also runs a number of extra-curricular activities to include sports and recreation, gala-day activities and a number of student clubs.
The Church Relief Service for Apostolic Missions (CRESAM) was organized in 2005 as a relief entity to cater to under-privileged people in the areas of health & sanitation, education and vocational skills training, rehabilitation of war victims and training of church workers. With a pilot water and sanitation in Grand Gedeh County, the organization is making headways in building the integrity to attract more support for activities in other areas. You can donate to CRESAM through the church contact address. You can download the information brochure of CRESAM from the Multi-media Center.
